Hecate has an objection

We now see that the unrest with Yuji having Shana is shared by all three members of the Bal Masqué trinity, and even though she was the quietest before, clearly Hecate was the most disturbed by it. Yuji also finally gives an answer to the question as to why he is keeping Shana, though whether that’s truly the whole answer is yet to be seen.

I got all confused by Yoshida’s conversation with Khamsin. Clearly the story he told was his own personal story, but I guess I don’t really get what it had to do with Pheles’ cross. I understand that it furthered this notion of love conquering all (not in those words, but that is effectively the theme here) but..whatever. I guess we’ll find out eventually.

Meanwhile, Yuji and the Trinity are going into the gate, which leaves the Palace of the Stars vulnerable, which is probably right when Wilhelmina and Rebecca will show up.

The newest kick-ass female Flame Haze: Rebecca Reed

So we finally find out what happened to Satou, and now he can return to be Margery Daw’s side. Meanwhile, Wilhelmina now has her friend Rebecca to help her find Shana. While I’d still say it’s a long shot, I guess two powerful Flame Hazes is still better than one.

I don’t know if I’m the only one, but I’m getting some sort of shady vibes from Sophie. Maybe it’s just the fact that she can be caring in one scene and very calculating in preparing for the Flame Haze’s defense in another. Or maybe she’s secretly undermining the Flame Hazes, I don’t know. If she were, I don’t know why she would.

Meanwhile, it appears jealous Hecate has shown up to try to get rid of Shana. I’m guessing that Hecate has a thing for Yugi-Silver and isn’t too happy that Yuji is spending a lot of his time with Shana. I certainly doubt that Yuji sent Hecate to deal with Shana.

Hecate is almost ready for the real action to begin

We still don’t really have any word about what the Flame Hazes are doing to prepare for imminent Bal Masqué attack, though it seems they keep asking for Wilhelmina to be a part of it, though she’s intent on trying to save Shana, which seems like it would be a suicide mission right now. Perhaps the one way it could work is if she attempted to rescue her while all the members of Bal Masqué were away as part of their 2nd state attack.

I still wonder what Yuji’s true intentions are. There are more rumblings, this time from Sydonay, about what Yuji is up to, though Bel Peol assures him that things are alright. One has to wonder if he is doing something behind the scenes to hurt the Bal Masqué’s plans or somehow has secret knowledge in that, even if the Bal Masqué succeeds in doing what they’re doing, the end result won’t be what they expected. Otherwise, why would Yuji allow Alastor to basically be in on some of the Bal Masqué’s meetings. Not that there is much Alastor can do about it right now, but still…

She was like fire in bed

So it’s pretty clear that Yuji and Silver (or whatever he’s actually called) are either of one mind or are completely in agreement about whatever they’re doing. His final goal seems to be to save Shana from her fate as a flame haze, and there are indications that he wants or needs Alastor’s help in this endeavor, but it’s certainly unclear how he intends to accomplish this goal. Is he planning on doing it by helping the Bal Masqué win, or is he merely using them?

In any case, with Shana kidnapped and Margery likely out of service, Wilhelmina is the only flame haze in the city in a position to do anything, and I’m sure she’ll try to find some way to find Shana, though I would think she would have very long odds of actually being able to succeed. Yuji was able to defeat three Flame Hazes with barely any effort, so I doubt facing just Wilhelmina could post much of a problem.

Yuji is...Yuji is...Yuji is...GAY! NOOOO!

This was kind of an anti-climatic episode in a way. The Flame Hazes sensed Yuji’s arrival (though they didn’t know it was him), and Margery is the one who confirmed that Yuji was the Denizen that they sensed. Also, Tanaka decided to work for Margery again, going up to the Crystal Alter with Yoshida. Otherwise the episode was what I described above: Yuji remembering things.

This the first time we’ve ween Yuji in his body with his voice and, at least seemingly, with his thoughts. This would seem to suggest that he can allow either his or Silver’s consciousness to be in control of his body at any given time, and that he isn’t opposing Silver. Of course, again, to what end he is doing it, we can’t really say. I guess we’ll find out his real intentions of coming back to Misaki City in the next episode…
