Despite going on a rather long hiatus over last fall – and even for a couple weeks in January – January ended up being my best month yet, seeing an all time high in monthly visits and AUVs (with the first time over 10,000 AUVs), and a close 2nd behind July 2008 for Page Views. I’m also getting about 3 times as much traffic this January as I was in January of last year.
Now, onto more specific data:
The 5 busiest days in January (in visits):
- January 1 (641)
- January 2 (627)
- January 10 (623)
- January 4 (568)
- January 8 (559)
I had 5 days all last year which got over 600 visits and I already have 3 in the month of January. December 31st – January 2nd may very well be my busiest 3 days on record, with a total of 1,878 visitors over those 3 days.

In January I had visits from 127 countries, 18 different nations gave me over 100 visits, while a total of 67 gave me at least 10 visits. For the 2nd month in a row, every US State also gave me a visit, with 15 states giving me at least 100 visits.
A total of 57.7% of visitors to my blog use Firefox, with 87% of those users using Firefox 3. Less than 1% of Firefox users still use some version of Firefox 1 or 1.5. A total of 30% of visitors to my blog use Internet Explorer, with 79% of those users using IE7, but a full 19% of users still using IE6. Nearly 2% are using the IE8 beta. Opera users make up 4.3% of my visitors, Safari users make up 3.9% of visitors, while Chrome makes up 3.3% of visitors.
Funny how those season previews always get the most views.
