So far, I think the best verdict on Birdy the Might Decode 02 is that, if you liked the first season, you’ll probably like the second season. If you didn’t like the first season, you probably won’t like this either. One of the things I like is that last season largely fed directly into this season, so most of the background information we already knew from the last season.

Also, it looks like Tsutomu has a romantic rival over Birdy, just as Birday has one over Tsutomu in the form of Natsumi. I do get a feeling that the overall plot of this season may be better than the last season, though, which is a good thing. I have increasing hopes for this show, so I hope it lives up to them.
I actually liked the first season but I’m disliking the second so far – they dropped Gomez for no reason and for now it looks like it’s going like the first season but with roles reversed (i.e. Birdy in denial instead of Tsutomu).

Hm.. after watching in, it seems like birdy and tsutomu genuinely don’t have feelings for each other. Not surprising really, got that vibe from the first show. They are as they are shown. partners in a crap situation, friends.
This season is going off really well, I think it is better than the first season. For once there is a show where I like both the ed and op. Journey into her mind was great, particularly the fight between her and the giant robot. While sketchy, it showed a big trauma in her past (not the death, but her being unable to accept the reality of what her “mother” was).
