Wow, I totally didn’t even know that this show existed until I was surfing channels tonight.
In fact, I was thisclose to not even seeing it. I was about to stick another anime DVD into the VCR um, duh, the DVD player when I saw that Family Feud was on NBC, and I always loved that show, so I had to watch. But when I was flipping during ads, I saw that ABC was advertising a show call “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” which was to air next so, of course, I had to check it out.
Now, my impression is that they’re taking part in a made-up Japanese game show called Majide (and someone can correct me if I’m wrong on this part) where contestants basically compete in the most famous (or infamous) competitions seen on Japanese game and variety shows.
I’m not really an expert on said shows, so I’m not sure if the competitions they partake in actually occur or are common on Japanese TV, but this should be interesting nevertheless, though I almost watched as much to see things in Japan (oh! There’s the Rainbow Bridge! I know that! Oh! And that’s the Tokyo Tower! Oh, and I’ve seen that building in an anime before too!) than to actually watch the reality show.
In any case, they can’t have a show set in Japan without hitting anime eventually, I would think. They at the very least have to go to Akihabara and run into a horde of otaku or something.
Yes, it is here again…the post no one but I and a few other people in the known universe care about…the web stats post! Get all the numeric goodness below the fold! (even if it’s a bit late this time)…
I’m just about caught up (finally) on episode reviews.
I’m 4 episodes back on Maid Guy, but that’s because that’s how far back the fansubbers are. I’ve blogged everything they’ve released. I think I’m 1 back on Nijuu Mensou, but again, I’ve gone as far as the fansubbers. I’m pretty much caught up on Special A. I think after today I’ll be two episodes back, with 1 episode left to catch up with the fansubbers.
Speaking of Nijuu Mensou, I just noticed today that several places I was spelling it “Nijuu Mensou” (like in the text of most of my episode reviews) as well as “Nijuu Menzou” (such as in the category label and the episode review post titles). I’m going through and switching them all to Nijuu Mensou just so it’s consistent.
Also, to show how far behind I am, I haven’t even gotten around to posting my May web stats yet. I hope to do that next week, possibly even tomorrow.
Also, sorry for not posting any updates on where I think series rank this season, but I’m so far behind watching those that it’s not even funny. I’m trying to catch up on those one at a time. Meanwhile, it’s almost already the summer season. Expect one new blogging series to replace Maid Guy. This season I watched something like 8 new series or something. I may, at most, start watching 3 new series in the summer to replace the 3 that are ending.
I still have two semesters left of my class, so hopefully it won’t be too rough. After that, I’m home free (and with a masters degree!) Yay. But you’ll have to wait until next May for that.
It’s Nijuu Mensou no Musume Episode 9 and Chiko and Shunka decide to start looking into the disappearance of Twenty Faces, and Shunka has a guess as to who he may really be. In the meantime, and old friend of Chiko returns.
It’s episode 10 of Special A, and someone has been vandalizing the Special A greenhouse in an act of apparent hate towards the group. In the mean time, and old nemesis challenged Ryuu, the 7th and final member of the Special A, to a contest.
It’s episode 8 of Nijuu Mensou no Musume, and the mysterious lady and her large sidekick go off in search of Chiko, hoping that she can show them to Twenty Faces’ legacy, something which they hope will allow them to finalize research on a weapon which was started during the war.
It’s Episode 9 of Special A, and Hikari goes along with Yahiro for a “talk” but ends up being used as bait to lure Akira. However, Kei decides to take care of the situation himself.
It’s episode 8 of Maid Guy, and Liz’s brother shows up and, being a lover of big breasted women, immediately proposes to Naeka. After being rejected, he then uses his awesome Mega-Playboy charm powers to gain the favor of all the girls in the school.
