Web Stats for May 2008

Yes, it is here again…the post no one but I and a few other people in the known universe care about…the web stats post! Get all the numeric goodness below the fold! (even if it’s a bit late this time)…

In May, animeblogger antenna finally added me, which may have helped increase my traffic.  However a combination of infrequent posting and the fact that April had the Spring preview which is always draws lots of visitors led to a drop in traffic for this month.

In any case, here are the numbers. Change from April in ()

Visits: 7,002 (-8.9%)
Page Views: 12,394 (-7.7%)
Absolute Unique Visitors: 5,522 (-0.7%)

This translates into:

Visits/day: 225.9 (-11%)
Page Views/day: 399.8 (-10.7%)
AUV/day: 178.1 (-3.9%)

Now, on to more specific statistics:

  4. Nijuu Mensou no Musume – Episode 03 (214)
  5. Candy Boy – Episode 1 (204)

This month I had people from 98 countries visit, a drop of 3 from last month.  The United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Philippines, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Japan, and France all had at least 100 visitors, while 34 other nations had at least 10 visits.

I also had 49 states and DC visit my site in May, with only Wyoming ignoring me.  California, New York, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Pennsyvania, Virginia, New Jersey, Washington, and Maryland all had at least 100 visits.

Looking at browser stats, 54.2% of visitors used Firefox, with nearly 5% of those using Firefox 3.  Meanwhile, 35.2% of visitors used IE, with over 35% still using IE6.  Opera users made up 4.9% of visitors while 4.5% used Safari.

Finally, I had 907 podcast downloads (-24.7%) with Episode 69 being the most downloaded podcast for 2 months in a row with 143 downloads.  Episode 73 came in with 137, Episode 71 came in with 108, and Episode 72 came in with 97.  I did skip my podcast on May 24th, which could account for some of the drop in downloads.

Glad I sent you some traffic, if anything ^^

    I see I’m not the only one to experience a drop-off in traffic last month. Interesting. Then again, blogging more classic titles (like “Starship Troopers” and “Dirty Pair”) and older titles in my backlog (lik e”Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS” and non-current “Keroro Gunsou”)likely didn’t help me. ^_^;

Well, one also has to realize that I posted every single day in the month of april, but only posted 17 days in May. Posting every day does help.
