- Twenty Faces and his people get off the airship somehow and leave it up as a decoy for the police to follow - who eventually shoot it down. Meanwhile, the group is really escaping by train. Meanwhile, Chiko continues to feel bad about what might happen to Angie’s father.
- Twenty Faces meets with the town’s mayor, telling him that the Clock of the Three Magi has been hidden at the agreed spot. The mayor adds on that the city council wanted to auction the piece off at the end of the festival, but he thought it was wrong. The mayor then gives Twenty Faces an envelope with some papers in it that he wanted.
- Twenty Faces tells the mayor that he lost faith in the world during the “great war,” and even though the war is over, evil people still lurk. He continues, saying that he wishes to “rewrite the whole panorama of this world” to suit his case, and t do that, he needs to fashion someone else to be like him.
- As the train that Twenty Faces is on leaves, Tiger and his henchment - including Angie - jump on the train. Yasu (the bigger guy) runs into Chiko on the train, but is immediately shot and killed by Tiger’s men. Angie then reveals herself to Chiko as one of Tiger’s henchmen and tosses her into a room.
- Angie starts attacking Chiko with a hatchet, but Chiko is able to use to agility to avoid the attacks and eventually escapes to the outside of the train.
- Meanwhile, Tiger and his men attack Twenty Faces’ men, killing everyone but Ken, Skipper, and Muta. While trying to escape, Skipper is shot in the back, but wills himself to grab the men following them and jumping out of the train with them, presumably killing all three.
- On the train, Angie chases Chiko to the top of the train, where their battle continues. Chiko slips and has to hang on to the side railing of the train to hang on when a strong gust of wind suddenly blows Angie off the train. Chiko finally makes her way back onto the train and finds the train car where all of Twenty Faces’ men have been killed.
- Tiger also reaches Twenty Faces, who is in his own compartment. Tiger tells Twenty Faces that he thinks he’s planning something much grander than just being a thief, and asks Twenty Faces if he’ll join with him on whatever he wants to accomplish.
- Chiko eventually reaches Muta, who is nearly passed out due to being shot in the leg and helps him. However, one of Tiger’s men is able to fire a shot at Chiko just before dying from his own wounds, and Muta jumps in front of Chiko, taking the shot himself and dies.
- In his cabin, Twenty Faces declines Tiger’s offer, kicks his gun out of his hand and shoots him before Tiger can slash him. Twenty Faces leaves the compartment and runs into Chiko, as she’s getting onto his car. However, Tiger sets off one of his rockets, and Twenty Faces tosses Chiko onto the car she came from just before the car he is one explodes into flames…
Holy shit, what an episode. This episode is clearly the end of the introduction period of the series, as Twenty Faces’ organization is wiped out, leaving Chiko (and presumably Ken) all alone, though with how slipper Twenty Faces is, I wouldn’t be surprised if he were able to escape somehow.
The fate of Skipper and Angie are also unknown as, while they did jump/get blown off the train, did that kill them? I won’t be surprised if we see one if not both of them later.
Twenty Faces at one point said he had lost faith in the world due to the world. I wonder if Chiko will have a similar reaction after being tricked by Angie and having most of her friends killed.
We also found out what the deal was with Twenty Faces meeting with the mayor in the last episode as well.
I was thinking earlier how this series had a similar feeling to Baccano, probably because it takes place in roughly the same time period, but this episode was almost like Baccano taking place in one episode as Tiger and Twenty Faces’ men battle each other on the train.
Of course, I’m extremely interested in seeing where the series goes from here, as Chiko has to effectively do things by herself now. This series is quickly elevating itself, not as just the best series this season, but as a contender for best series in 2008 and possibly even further.

Holy Shit pretty much sums this up XD
This is probably the first GOOD ep from NMnM. The only part I don’t understand is why Twenty Face didn’t ditch the burning train, he could have easily jumped over to safety with Chiko.
Well yeah. But that wouldn’t have made it as bad for Chiko.
I feel like he is ok, because just standing in a fire when he could have just jumped out of the car is so not Twenty Faces.
I think Skipper is definitely dead, since he was toast even without jumping out of the train. Angie is probably ok and will resurface as a villain later.
Kabitzin -
Agree, probably agree given the situation, and agree.
I guess I’ll find out pretty soon since I’m about to do another round of episode reviews lol.
