  • Chizuko, who says that she wants to be called Chiko (well, that answered my question from the last episode quickly) and 20 Faces reach a hideout on some island which used to be an abandoned military base during “the war.” Some of 20 Faces’ followers question bringing a kid along, but 20 Faces stands firm on that point, noting that her guardians were poisoning her, and she was smart enough to figure it out.
  • The police soon reach 20 Faces’ base and he and his followers must make an escape in his blimp after blowing their base up. Soon the group arrives at another base in China, where 20 Faces meets up with one of his informants, Chen, who tells them about a good opportunity to execute another theft.
  • The group debates whether to go through with the robbery, and 20 Faces decides to. Chiko says she wants to go, so 20 Faces lets her. The robber chance ends up being a trap by Chen, however, but 20 Faces anticipates this and is able to both foil the plot and steal the object, both.
  • Skipper, Ken, 20 Faces, and Chiko try to get away in their car, but the owners of the object follow and start shooting up their car, inside which 20 Faces tries to cover Chiko. Ken is able to shoot out the pursuer’s tires and the chase ends. However, the group decides to ditch the car since it stands out too much.
  • They head towards some people they know in the area when 20 Faces collapses and reveals that he’s been shot in the abdomen. A woman finds them and brings them in. Ken and Skipper leave to fetch their followers while Chiko stays with the woman to take care of 20 Faces for the night.
  • The next morning, the woman informs a man that 20 Faces is there and that this is going to be their best chance to catch him. However, when she enters the room, 20 Faces is up and is ready to leave. The woman then grabs Chiko and points a gun at her, but Chiko reveals that she’s already found the gun and emptied the bullets out. Meanwhile, Ken and Skipper have already dealt with the men who have showed up to get 20 Faces.
  • Back at the base, Chiko tries some knife throwing, and shows herself to be rather adept at it…

This was another pretty good episode, as we get to see a lot more of 20 Faces, as well as the extent of his organization, as he has to have something like a dozen people working for him as well as informants (and hideouts) all over the world.

Last episode, I was thinking that his blimp would seem to stand out, and sure it enough it seems to have led the police to their hideout. I’m guessing he only really would use if he has to because of that. Also, I’m guessing the “war” people are referring to is World War II, as it sounds like Japan lost (they were part of the Allies in World War I), which would put this series in the late 40s or 50s I’d guess.

Also, Chiko already shown herself to be smart in the first episode when she figured out that her aunt and uncle were poisoning her, and she just builds on that this episode with her very sharp intuition. She also seems to show some other good skills as well, eg the knife throwing.

From the opening, it looks like Chiko is probably around 14 or 15 or so, as well as works with 2 other women of which we haven’t met. I’m guessing we’ll jump ahead a few years in not too long. I also won’t be shocked if 20 Faces ends up getting offed while trying to protect Chiko. I thought it might happen this episode the way things were going, but it didn’t.
