Given the source material, if the show had gone with more of the humor that manga-ka infused into the manga, I think Doujin Work would have really worked. That being said, I don’t think the anime was that bad, but I felt like it could have been done better.

I found it moderately amusing, at least for the first 9 episodes. I was borderline on the recommend or not thing.

Though, I’m not sure if 74% would really be considered a “high” score, since my scoring is kind of like a traditional school grading score (90-100 is A, 80-89 is B, 70-79 is C, 60-69 is D, below 60 is pretty much an F) or at least that’s the goal, so in that sense, it’s basically a mid-C.

Of course, all of these go through a re-review when I put it on my podcast, and I have a tendency to down-score things in the re-review, though I did watch this again pretty much right before doing the review. I found myself laughing quite a bit, at least through the first 9 episodes, in any case.

I am surprised you gave this series a high mark! It is like watching 12 episodes of the same badly animated nyuk-nyuk double entendre over and over and over again!

I did find some of the bad doujinshi drawings funny, but overall I really hated this show.
