Web Stats for January 2008

Yes, it is here again…the post no one but I and a few other people in the known universe care about (thus the off-topic tag for anime-nano)….the web stats post!

Speaking of Anime-Nano, as probably more people than wish to know knows, having my blog added to Anime Nano definitely helped my web stats for this month.

Here are the numbers. Change from December in ():

Visits: 3,998 (+21.9%) [oh come on! Surely you could have found 2 more visits somewhere!]
Page Views: 6,991 (+11.8%) [same thing. 9 friggen page views away...]
Unique Visitors: 2,923 (+15.4%)

This translates into 129 visits a day, 225.5 page views a day, and 94.3 unique visitors per day. Pages viewed per Visit sit a 1.75, down from 1.93.

On to more specific stats.

My Top 5 busies days (in visits) in January were:

  1. January 30 (295)
  2. January 23 (281)
  3. January 22 (180)
  4. January 27 (176)
  5. January 21 (153)

Top 5 non-search engine sites from which I received traffic (in visits):

  1. Anime Nano (652)
  2. Sea Slugs Anime Blog (127)
  3. Otakon.com (85)
  4. m33w Fansubs (42)
  5. Rollchan’s Blog, Borderline Hikikomori (16)

Top 5 most visited posts (in pageviews):

  1. ADV Titles on ‘Indefinite Hiatus’? Or maybe not. (98)
  2. Wow (92)
  3. Otakon 2007 Pictures (84)
  4. CLANNAD - Episode 15 (81)
  5. Bandai Visual licenses Shigofumi, True Tears (70)

Just a note and a thought: This may not be the best way to see what articles are actually being read most, since most of them display fully if one views it when one looks at a category page, so many of those pageviews where people are just looking at a category listing may actually be reading posts. Second, I’m kind of amazed that a page like the Otakon 2007 Pictures suddenly got so many hits. Maybe people are starting to look at Otakon stuff again now that it’s getting close to registration time?

Once again I tied October and December for visits from the most nations at 83. The United States, Canada, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Germany, and Australia all had triple-digit visits while 26 other nations had double-digit visits.

I also got visits from 48 states and the District of Columbia, with Wyoming goes back to ignoring me after gracing me with their first visit in 4 months last month while North Dakota is now a no-visiting offender for the 3rd straight month. California, Texas, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland like the site the most.

Looking at the browser stats, Firefox wins again with 54% with Internet Explorer in 2nd with almost 37%. Opera came in at about 5% while Safari had just over 2%.

Looking at my awstats statistics, I had 733 podcast downloads (+43.7% from last month). Episode 57 was downloaded 72 times, Episode 58 was downloaded 67 times, Episode 56 was downloaded 54 times, Episode 59 was downloaded 48 times, and Episode 55 (which was actually released at the end of December) was downloaded 31 times.
