And the anime credits feature of the blog rises from the dead once again! We’ll see how long it stays there this time. I also replaced deleted vidoes and added some better quality ones for some of the past credits that I’ve posted as well.
In any case, despite what I think of the overall animation of the new series, I really like the new Gunslinger Girl opening. Not as good as The Light Before We Land, but still good:
It’s episode 3, and Pinocchio finally gets to meet his first Gunslinger Girl: Triela. Surely he can’t beat these indestructible cyborg girls, right? Right?
I could tell around 1 or 2 today that today may be a big day for my blog as far as web stats. I’d just gotten listed at Anime Nano, AN cleared up it’s spamming issue, and I posted a few posts today (some planned, some not).
However, what happened has gone beyond even what I thought I would get earlier today. I not only beat my all time single-day records, I smashed them:
Today, as of 9:12 PM:
215 visits (first time over 200 and all time record). Previous record: 177 (10/3/07)
369 pageviews (8th time over 300 and all time record). Previous record: 357 (10/9/07)
190 unique visitors (2nd time over 150 and all time record). Previous record: 153 (10/3/07)
With more than a week left to go, I already have more visits this month than I did in November.
Luckily for everyone visiting my blog, I probably won’t make another post about this until my January web stats post, but if anyone had any doubts about whether sites like Anime Nano helped you out or not, I think I just emphatically answered that.

Here we go. The group finals, with the first four groups being decided in this post. As expected, some really tough choices.
Of course, given that this is a bracket, everyone in the quarterfinals may not be truly in my overall top 10 list, but obviously most of them will be.
AT&T Inc. may begin monitoring traffic over its online network in an effort to stamp out theft of copyrighted material, its chief executive said Wednesday….
“It’s like being in a store and watching someone steal a DVD. Do you act?” Stephenson asked.
The problem is that, it’s not exactly the same. If someone walks into Wal-Mart and takes something without paying, that’s obviously stealing. There isn’t anything in Wal-Mart that you can just walk away with for free.
However, if you take something off of the internet without paying, that may be perfectly fine. Even if something is copyrighted, downloading it might be fine if it’s under fair use or if the copyright holder gives permission or doesn’t care.
I’d become aware of the ikimashou.net fiasco when I noticed that this site had finally been added to Anime Nano, and seeing that one of the sites hosted by ikimashou.net was (and still is as of this post) spamming Anime Nano with crap posts about comics.
It’s episode 12 of Shion no Ō. It’s time for all 3 girls to play in their big 3rd round matches - Shion plays against the enigmatic Satoru, Ayumi plays against Shion’s foster-father Shinji, while Saori plays against her training master, current shogi champion, and brother to Satoru Hani-meijin. One of them goes down, but what about the other two?
It’s amazing what a site like Anime-Nano can do. I decided to take a peek at my web stats for this month, and noticed that I had a sudden jump in visitors the past two days. At first I thought it was because I posted my thoughts about ICv2’s interview with Funimation CEO Gen Fukunaga, despite apparently having no one linking in to that page nor any comments.
Then I saw where I was getting the most visits from, and instead of the usual suspects at the top, I saw Anime Nano. I think I had submitted my page to Anime Nano a couple months ago, then largely forgot about it. Well, apparently I was finally added 2 days ago, and I’ve already received nearly 100 visits from there, making them the #1 referral site for my blog. In 2 days, thus the “wow.”
Just a note: some people may think with my monthly web stats posts and posts like this, that I’m obsessive about my web traffic, but I’m not necessarily, at least not anymore.
I think to begin with I was, just because I was interested to see if anyone was bothering to read anything I wrote, but now that I’ve been getting pretty decent traffic for a while, I haven’t been concerned with it so much. However, that doesn’t mean I’m not happy if more and more people keep visiting.
