Web Stats for December 2007

Yes, it is here again…the post no one but I and a few other people in the known universe care about….the web stats post!

December saw a nice rebound in stats from November, and actually showed better numbers than October, which was a month which I wasn’t surprised had a lot of numbers due to the ProBlogger contests.

Here are the numbers. Change from November in ():

Visits: 3,280 (+28.8%)
Page Views: 6,256 (+27.1%)
Unique Visitors: 2,534 (+30.6%)

Since my first full month of using Google Analytics in August, I have seen a 121.6% increase in visits, a 68.4% increase in page views, and a 122.1% increase in unique visitors.

Overall, this translates to 105.8 visits per day, as I finally eclipse the mystical 100 visits per day mark; 201.8 page views per day, as I pass 200 page views a day for the first time; and 81.7 unique visitors per day.

Pages per visit drops again from 1.93 to 1.91.

On to more specific stats.

My top 5 days in December were:

  1. December 18 (147)
  2. December 22 (145)
  3. December 23 (141)
  4. December 19 (138)
  5. December 20, December 27 (129)

Top 5 non-search engine sites from which I received traffic:

  1. Sea Slugs Anime Blog (110)
  2. rollchan - a really simple blog (100)
  3. Anime News Network (42)
  4. Otakon.com (41)
  5. m33w fansubs (36)

Top 5 most visited posts:

  1. Winter 2008 Anime Preview (205)
  2. Otakon 2007 Pictures (68)
  3. Blue Drop - Episode 09 (59)
  4. School Days - Episode 12 [END] (53)
  5. Blue Drop - Episode 11 (40)

Looking at the search engine keywords that people used to find my site, it seems like more and more people are using search engines to look for my blog specifically, as all the top 3 search keyword combinations all had to do with “josh” “anime” and/or “blog.” Searches for Blue Drop, School Days, and The Winter anime season previews also appeared to be major drivers to the site.

In December, I tied October for the most nations from which visitors came, with 83. Eight nations had at least triple-digit visitors: the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Malaysia, Germany, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and France. 31 nations had at least double-digit visits.

I got visits from 47 states and the District of Columbia in December as well. North and South Dakota become 2 straight month offenders for no visitors, along with Montana. Wyoming finally gave me it’s first visitor in 4 months. Three states gave me triple-digit visitors: California, Texas, and New York. A total of 26 states gave me at least double-digit visitors.

A majority of visitors - 52.6% - use Firefox while 40.6% use Internet Explorer. Opera comes in at 3.2% while Safari sits at 2.6%. 3 people apparently visited the site on their Playstation 3.

Looking at my awstats statistics, I had 510 downloads of my podcasts. Episode 54 was downloaded 89 times, Episode 53 was downloaded 52 times, Episode 55 was downloaded 39 times (thought it was only up for like 6 days in the month), and Episode 52 was downloaded 32 times.
