CLANNAD – Episode 11

It’s episode 11, and Kotomi keeps playing her violin, but is it getting any better? Meanwhile, Kyou seems interested in how interested in girls Okazaki might be. Also, is that man from the end of the last episode getting up to something?

Are you trying to kill me with that, or what?
Kyou goes crazy Nandeyanen

The highlights of this episode:

  • Kotomi continues to fell people with her violin, which she loaned from the music club. As a result, Kyou has her practicing her gags to keep her away from it. Kotomi continues to want to play the violin as much as possible before she has to return it, so Kyou decides to hold a recital for her over the upcoming Monday, but in return, she can’t practice in the drama club room (and thus away form her and Okazaki).
  • After school, when Kyou gets Okazaki alone, she asks him if there were a girl that loved him so much that she couldn’t control herself, would he date her. Okazaki tries to blow off the question, by saying that no one would want to date a delinquent like him.
  • That Sunday, Okazaki hears harsh noises coming from the school, and he finds Kotomi “practicing” violin in the library. It happens that she brought an apple pie for them to eat in hopes that he would come visit her. Kotomi then reads Okazaki a book, but he falls asleep and ends up having a really strange dream with Kotomi in a violin comedy routine, Nagisa accidentally melting a box of dango, Ryou telling Okazaki that he has schizophrenia, and Ryou about to conduct surgery on him.
  • On Monday, Kotomi is about to have her recital when Okazaki notices that Kyou invited all the bad kids in school (for punishment I guess), while Nagisa unwisely invited her parents. Also, Sakagami sees Sunohara’s dorm mother Misae Sagara, asking for advice on the upcoming student council president race since Misae herself was, apparently, a legendary student council president herself. Kotomi then performs, once again causing the audience to feel like sharp screws are being twisted into their brains.
  • Afterwards, while everyone is walking home, the older man from the last episode tries to grab Kotomi, but Nagisa is able to hold him back, and Okazaki and Kyou confront him, but he just walks off, while Kotomi merely says that he’s “the bad guy”…

The bad guy

So, who is the bad guy that showed up at the end of the episode for the 2nd time? My first guess is actually Kotomi’s father, given her less then enthusiastic response when her parents were mentioned. I still think there is something up with Kotomi’s bad violin playing, especially since she doesn’t seem to think there is anything wrong with it.

Also, finding out that Sunohara’s dorm’s mother is a past “legendary” school council president will probably be revisited, I’m guessing during Sakagami’s arc. Otherwise, this episode didn’t seem to have a whole lot going on, other than Kyou apparently putting the pieces into place to set Okazaki up with Ryou. Of course, I’m wondering if Kyou will have a change of heart about that herself before the end.

  1. hmm…Kotomi’s not being weird…she wants to Okazaki to take her nudey pix. wehehehehe.

as for Kyou, dang…Okazaki should go for her. she’s a chick with an attitude. XD~

  2. I think it’s Kyou little sister who likes Okazaki, not Kyou herself. Don’t you remember Kyou always saying to her sister about how other girls are her “rivals” or something?

  3. “other than Kyou apparently putting the pieces into place to set Okazaki up with Ryou”

Isn’t that what I basically said? lol I just said I thought that Kyou may end up liking Okazaki as well is all.
