Web Stats for November 2007 (slight update)

Yes, it is here again…the post no one but I and a few other people in the known universe care about….the web stats post!

This month we see a not-unexpected drop-off from last month, considering that I was getting a lot of traffic from the ProBlogger thing, but I still see a rather considerable increase from September.

In any case, the stats:

Decrease from October will be in () while increase from September will be in []

Visits: 2,546 (-17.1%) [+23.9%]
Page Views: 4,922 (-17.7%) [+10%]
Unique Visitors: 1,940 (-11.3%) [+27.5%]

This marks a 72% increase in visits, 55% increase in page views, and 70% increase in unique visitors since my first full month of using Google Analytics in August.

I was kind of amazed these stats were as good as they were given that I was pretty much busy all month, started getting behind on some of my episode reviews (and I’m still trying to catch up) and I’m not sure if I posted a comment (or even really visited) another anime blog all month. Yes, still a good increase overall.

In any case, that translates to 85 visits a day, 164 page views a day, and 65 unique visitors a day. Pages per visit stayed pretty constant from October, moving from 1.95 to 1.93.

On to more specific stats:

My top 5 days in November:

  1. November 20 (149)
  2. November 13 (130)
  3. November 12 (129)
  4. November 15 (125)
  5. November 19 (103)

Top 5 non-search engine sites from which I received traffic:

  1. Sea Slugs Anime Blog (80)
  2. m33w Fansubs (60)
  3. Ramblings of DarkMirage (53)
  4. Otakon.com (51)
  5. rollchan - a really simple blog (39)

Top 5 most visited posts

  1. Comcast/ODEX Update (Updated) (78)
  2. School Days - Episode 12 [END] (73)
  3. Otakon 2007 Pictures (57)
  4. Fall 2007 Anime Preview (45)
  5. CLANNAD - Episode 04 (43)

It appears that, other than general searches for anime blogs, most people who found my site using search engines were looking for things about CLANNAD and Blue Drop mostly.

The number of nations from which people visited my site dropped from 83 in October to 79 in November, but that’s still an increase from 73 in September. Five nations got triple-digit visits: the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Singapore, and Germany. The number of nations with at-least double-digit visits was 24.

I got visits from 46 states and the District of Columbia in November, with North and South Dakota, Wyoming, and Rhode Island being the only states to shun me. Wyoming is now a non-visiting offender for 3 straight months. I easily get most of my visits by California, followed by Texas in a distant 2nd and New York in 3rd.

Finally, 49.5% of visitors to my site use Firefox while 42.6 use Internet Explorer. 4% use Opera, and 2.8% use Safari. About 95.4% of visitors view the site with a 1024×768 screen resolution or higher. Sorry to the 4.6% whose screen is too small for my new design.

Update

I don’t usually pay attention to Alexia ratings, since there are major problems in how it calculates traffic.  However, I have been more recently though, so, whenever I notice they’ve gone up, I can run over to Text Link Ads and update it, hoping that they’ll set a higher price or ads on my site (because, you know, like all other anime blogs, I must fight off all the people who want to advertise on my site).

I saw that my Alexia rank was about to break the top 600,000 (that number sounds so big!), and that it’s risen 1,123,356 ranking positions in the traffic rankings in the last 3 months.  However, I can definitely tell it is under-counting visitors as, supposedly, Malaysia gives me almost 40% of my traffic according to that.  Either that, or everyone in Malaysia has Javascript turned off and thus doesn’t trigger Google Analytics… (I’m apparently the 23,836th most popular web site in Malaysia…)
