As I alluded to a couple of weeks ago, I was making a new design for the website and, well, here it is. I’m using the Sandbox theme, like Kabitzin over at Sea Slugs did in their redesign.
Luckily I didn’t have to fudge too much. I think the biggest thing I had to do, other than the CSS design itself, was hack a widget to get my anime series split out from my categories list.
Right now the rotating banners are gone, though if I can find some suitable images to use as banners for different series, I might start that up again. It was hard enough finding images which I could crop to 800×200 and still work. It’s going to be even harder to find ones that I need to crop to 946×200. And unlike last time, I don’t think I’ll try to have a banner for certain series “no matter what” and end up with a few crappy banners. If I do rotating ones again, I want them all to be good this time.
As far as changes to the design, the most obvious change is the addition of a 2nd column since I have so much stuff in the sidebar now. As I mentioned earlier, the list of anime series is split off into it’s own list now, both to make that list more accessible and to make the other categories stand out more in the categories list.
I think just about everything else is the same, except I now have recent posts on the 2nd sidebar now. Other than that, everything should pretty much be the same, sand the design itself.
Of course, if you notice any bugs, feel free to let me know. I wouldn’t be surprised if something, somewhere ended up breaking, given that I upgraded to the newest version of Wordpress, implemented a new design, and implemented a new base template. In any case, I hope you like it.
