Anime Theme Competition - Third Round Group G Results

It’s time to announce the results of the 7th of 8 groups in Round 3 - Group G. One more group to go in the 3rd round after this!

The songs which advanced to the Fourth Round are in bold. I’m also now entering artist/anime information into the next round match-ups on the bracket as they’re determined:

“Yoake Umarekuru Shoujo” by Yoko Takahashi - Shakugan no Shana vs.
“Ice Cream” by Saeko Chiba - The World of Narue

“Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line” by Minami Kuribayashi - Chrono Crusade vs.
“Tori no Uta” by Lia - Air

“And Then” by Miyuki Hashimoto - Girls Bravo vs.
“Melissa” by Porno Graffiti - Fullmetal Alchemist

“Re-sublimity” by Kotoko - Kannazuki no Miko vs.
“White Destiny” by Yoko Ishida - Pretear

“Metamorphose” by Yoko Takahashi - This Ugly Yet Beautiful World vs.
“Only You” by Mi - Bokura ga Ita

“Ashita he no Hikari” by Asuka Hinoi - Seto no Hanayome vs.
“Wo Ai Ni” by Dream - Asobotto Senki Goku

“You” by Yuria - Shuffle! vs.
“Shining Days” by Minami Kuribayashi - My-Hime

This group may have been one of the most difficult to get through yet, with no fewer than 4 very difficult choices to make.

The first was Yowake Umare Kuru Shoujo vs. Ice Cream. Boy, I probably had to listen to these two songs at least three times before settling on Yowake (I changed my mind twice on this one, by the way). This was definitely a choice I didn’t want to make this early in the bracket.

The second was Tsubasa wa Pleasure Line vs. Tori no Uta. Maybe it was it’s length or it wasn’t jumpy enough, but I eventually went with Tsubasa on this one.

The third was And Then vs. Melissa. Out of the three, this was probably the easiest, but still not easy. In the end, I just felt that And Then was a little too…”bubbly” I guess, and went with Melissa.

The fourth and final one was Metamorphose vs. Only You. All-in-all, I just liked Metamorphose better I guess, though it was pretty close.

Most of the others weren’t necessarily easy, but they seemed like that in comparison to those four.

Finally should be back to regular (for now)

I think I posted this in a comment in another post, but not in it’s own post, but I was gone this past weekend, and in conjunction with an unplanned, er, time-occupying event the weekend before, I’ve kind of gotten behind on things.  I was able to reasonably catch up from the previous weekend last week, but I am yet again behind.  Luckily, I should be clear now until Thanksgiving (and I’m not sure what I’ll do over that 5-day weekend…)

In any case, once again the podcast will hopefully by up tonight, though you may have to wait until tomorrow.  I’ll try my best to get episode 50 (jeez…50 already) out on time.  I’ll also try catching up on my episode reviews, though that’s been partially helped by the fact that some of the fansubbers are being slow themselves anyway (for example, Blue Drop Episode 6 airs in, like, an hour or two, but Genjo still hasn’t released the sub for Episode 4 yet).

I’d say expect Shion 3 next, then Shana 5, CLANNAD 5, then ef 5 (when it gets released), unless a Blue Drop episode gets released along the way, and then it’ll get top priority.

Also, I may have said this before, but I’ll probably go back and replace the 4:3 CLANNAD images with the 16:9 images, but that’ll be more of a “when I don’t have anything in the queue to do” type thing.
