Anime Theme Competition – Third Round Group E Results

It’s time to announce the results of the 5th of 8 groups in Round 3 – Group E.

The songs which advanced to the Fourth Round are in bold. I’m also now entering artist/anime information into the next round match-ups on the bracket as they’re determined:

“Bara Ga Saku, Bara Ga Chiru” by Rina Aiuchi – Souten no Ken vs.
“Hakanaku Tsuyoku” by Younha – Kiba

“Yume no Naka e” by Atsuku Enomoto & Chihiro Suzuki – His and Her Circumstances vs.
“Cloud Age Symphony” by Shuntaro Okino – Last Exile

“Tattoo Kiss” by r.o.r/s – Kaleido Star vs.
“Tears to Tomorrow” by Mami Kawada – Please Twins

“Blaze” by Kotani Kinya – Tsubasa Chronicle vs.
“Hare Hare Yukai” by Aya Hirano, Minori Chiharai, & Yuko Gotou – The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

“Yasashii Ai no Hane” by Masumi Itou – Angel Tales Chu vs.
“Congratulations” by Goddess Family Club – Oh! My Goddess

“dis-” by Mika Arisaka – Infinite Ryvius vs.
“Zankoku na Tenshi no Teize” by Shiroh Sagisu – Neon Genesis Evangelion

“Second Flight” by Kotoko – Please Twins vs.
“Ready Steady Go” by L’Arc~en~Ciel – Fullmetal Alchemist

“Forever” by Savage Genius – Elemental Gelad vs.
“Ashita e no Melody” by Chaka – Cardcaptor Sakura 2: The Sealed Card

Another couple of difficult pairs in this one. The first was Yume no Nake e vs. Cloud Age Symphony. I like the chorus for stuff for Cloud Age Symphony, but taken overall, I don’t think it was as good, and it went too long (that’s not to say I don’t like long songs, but I think certain parts of it went too long).

The next was Tattoo Kiss vs. Tears to Tomorrow, another good OP vs. good ED matchup and both of these probably could have advanced a couple rounds at least, but I decided to go with Tattoo Kiss.

Oh, and I forgot to do this last week, but here are a list of anime and artists who have had multiple songs advance through the halfway point (through Group D):

Artists:
Mikuni Shimokawa (3)
The Indigo (2)
Origa (2)

Anime:
Full Metal Panic (3)
Ai Yori Aoshi (2)
Angelic Layer (2)
Ghost in the Shell (2)
Idolmaster Xenoglossia (2)

Group F match-ups for next week are listed after the jump…

What show should I watch next?

I’m going to try this out. This is partly to help me (in deciding what maybe to watch next) but also to see what type of response back I get from a poll to see if having polls would be worthwhile or not.

And while I’m at it, I can try out the WP-Sticky plugin too. That means that until I un-sticky this, look for new posts below this one (assuming it works right).

Edit: Oh, as a site note, given Game 7 tonight, I don’t think I’ll get another writeup out tonight. I was hoping to at least get Shana II episode 3 out, but unless the game becomes boring fast, or I feel compelled to do it after the game, expect to see it tomorrow or Tuesday)

So to test it out, the first poll is asking what show I should start watching next. This poll should expire in 3 days:
