New Section: What I want to See

I’m trying to fill up places in the week with new sections in this blog, and one of the ideas I came up with is a section called “What I want to see.” This is just an anime or manga that I haven’t seen or read yet that I am interested in, and why I’m interested in it.

The inaugural post in this section is for: Shakugan no Shana.

Shakugan no ShanaOne of the good things about doing an anime blog, especially the new releases part, is that I get to see what is coming out on DVD, and since I usually look up the information about the anime on ANN, I often see what type of scores it is getting on there.

Shakugan no Shana is one I noticed immediately. It’s unusual to see a series just being released in the United States which has several hundred ratings on ANN, and most of them good as well (all the mean scores are in the “Very Good” range).

The description on ANN also seemed interesting, with the first line to pull you right in: “Sakai Yuuji, a high school student who expected his normal life to last forever, is dead.” The art of the series also appears to be rather appealing.

Whenever I get this positive of a feeling about a series just reading around about it, it typically turns out to be a series that I end up really enjoying. As a result, this series is floating towards the top of my viewing queue.
